NARRATIVE COLLAGES: ARTISTIC, PERSONAL STORIES
Narrative Collages are bold, personalized forms of visual communication, identity, and storytelling. These works are layered with realistic and symbolic imagery that are deeply meaningful to and representational of Dee’s clients. They are effective at storytelling because of a collaborative, linear design process, including creating a ‘Descriptive Word List’ that helps define the focus and goal(s) of each project. Dee considers each client a co-artist of her Narrative Collages because of their essential and valued input. Narrative Collages can be enjoyed as art installations or produced as limited edition prints. They can also be offered in digital format.
Pictured above is a 5’ x 12’ Narrative Collage printed on canvas, and is installed in Ninkasi Brewing Company’s Headquarters. Incorporated into this piece are maps, photographs, hand drawings, text and more, with the intent to express the craft of brewing beer.
