VISUAL ARTIST

Dee Etzwiler is a Eugene, Oregon-based digital artist and principal of a+a Studio. Born and raised in Minnesota, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Architecture Degree.

After years of exploring photography and working with Polaroid films, Dee discovered a passion for digital art in 1998. Since then, her digital work—influenced by the work of Robert Rauschenberg—has developed into distinctive, lively collages that incorporate imagery, textures, and colors. In 2012, Dee founded a+a Studio to focus on public and private commissions, gallery exhibitions, and artist residencies. As an award-winning artist, Dee has a number of commissioned art installations, and her work has been shown in several juried gallery exhibitions.

Dee is included on the Oregon Arts Commission’s Oregon Art in Public Places Artist Roster (2025-2027), and is listed on the City of Eugene’s Urban Canvas Roster. She is also a Partner Artist with TurningArt (Boston, MA). A dedicated community leader, Dee has served on several boards and committees, including:

  • Appointed to the City of Eugene’s Parks and Recreation Plan Core Percent-for-Art Committee

  • Past board member of the Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene

  • Past board member of the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts

  • Past board President and board member of the Eugene Education Foundation.
